Brewing beer is a way of life at Payette Brewing Company.  Founded in 2010 by Mike Francis, it is more than a livelihood, it is an adventure.  They are considered “passionate, rebellious, beer pioneers. . . (that) venture down the road less traveled to make the best beer in the west.”  This belief is ever present during your visit.

Atmosphere

The minute you walk in, you can’t help but the energy, excitement and enthusiasm – the place is electric!  The Tap Room has the industrial look and carries throughout the production site.  Roll up doors that bring the outside in are perfect for an afternoon kick back and relax.  You can sit inside or out and not miss any of the excitement.  It is a busy place but you are made to feel like you are one of the family.  The attention to high quality customer service is truly exceptional and very natural.  If you get a chance, take a tour of this amazing facility as it is a great way to learn more about how great beer is made.

Beers

Aura: Sour “Aura plays on the refreshing and complex flavors of guava and hibiscus.  This ale bursts with tropical aromas”.   Sours are becoming very popular and this one really tops the list.  Truly refreshing, it keeps you coming back for more.  There is a sadness when the glass is empty.  Good news, there is more where that came from and you will want more!

Blood Orange Rustler: India Pale Ale “tropical twist of succulent, juicy, floral blood orange”.  Very smooth beer perfectly balanced for a great taste.  A nice, light twist makes this a great choice if you are looking for something uniquely different.

Rodeo:  Citra Pale Ale “aroma of passion fruit, peaches and mangos – citra hops give it a tropical fruit nose and flavor with a spicy rye kick”.  This beer is fun – unique in flavor and aroma, this makes you feel like you are ready for the tropics.  It is vacation time!

This is just a few of my favorites, but there are many, many to choose from.  Each with their own claim to fame – Payette Brewing lives up to their creativity.  After several trips, you may get to try them all, or maybe not!  Be sure to check out the “Ales of No Return” which are creatively fun specialty brews or one-offs.  You never know what you will find.  Here’s a quick little interview with Steve — Beertender and Tour Guide at Payette Brewing Company.
